Lighting Designer, Swan Lake

American lighting designer Natasha Katz has a strong creative relationship with The Royal Ballet Artistic Associate Christopher Wheeldon and has collaborated with him and the company on Tryst (2002), Alice's Adventures in Wonderland (2011) and The Winter's Tale (2014). Ms. Katz’s other collaborations with Mr. Wheeldon include Continuum (San Francisco Ballet, 2002), Carnival of the Animals (New York City Ballet, 2003), Swan Lake (Pennsylvania Ballet, 2004) Cinderella (Het Nationale Ballet, 2012), The Nutcracker (The Joffrey Ballet, 2016) and the premiere of An American in Paris (New York City Ballet, 2005; Théâtre Châtelet, 2014; Broadway, 2015 and the West End, 2017), for which she won a Tony.

Ms. Katz is a six-time Tony Award-winner whose career has led her to design for all aspects of entertainment around the world including dance, opera, concerts, international theatres, regional theatres, off-Broadway, Las Vegas, television and permanent lighting installations. Her Broadway credits include: Frozen, Springsteen on Broadway, Hello, Dolly! (starring Bette Midler), Cats, Long Day’s Journey Into Night, School of Rock, An American in Paris, Aladdin, The Glass Menagerie (Olivier nomination, 2017), Once, The Coast of Utopia: Salvage, Aida and Disney’s Beauty and the Beast.
