Full Biography
Miyoko Koyasu est née à Chiba, au Japon, et a été formée au Hashimoto Ballet et au Shimada Ballet Institute au Japon ainsi qu’à l’École nationale de ballet du Canada. Miyoko joined The National Ballet of Canada as a RBC Apprentice in 2011 and was promoted to Second Soloist in 2018.
Most recently, Miyoko danced in the world premiere of Wayne McGregor’s MADDADDAM. She has danced such roles as Valencienne in The Merry Widow, Calliope in Apollo, the title role in Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, Princess Florine, Second Fairy, Pussycat and First Fairy in The Sleeping Beauty, Petal in Cinderella, Olga in Onegin, Sheep in The Nutcracker and Principal Second Movement in Concerto. Her repertoire includes Swan Lake, Romeo and Juliet, Cinderella, Giselle, The Winter’s Tale, Nijinsky, Anna Karenina, Frame by Frame, Le Petit Prince, Pinocchio, A Streetcar Named Desire, La Fille mal gardée, Manon, Allegro Brillante, The Four Temperaments, The Concert, The Dream, Paquita, The Four Seasons, Carousel (A Dance), Piano Concerto #1, Emergence, Serenade, Symphony in C, Paz de la Jolla, Elite Syncopations, Being and Nothingness and The Dreamers Ever Leave You.
